Controller freezing when used with Windows Vista
Unfortunately MIDI support in Vista itself has a bug which will cause the driver of a MIDI device to crash and stop responding if too many MIDI messages are transmitted in one go (E.g: Excessive scratching or spinning of the jogwheels.)
The best solution is to upgrade to Windows 7 which does not have this problem. Windows 7 will also give you considerably improved system performance over Vista, which is a very 'bloated' and resource-hungry Operating System.
Alternatively, assuming that you have the latest firmware installed, you can work around this problem by changing the frequency of MIDI commands that the jogwheel sends (Jog Trans.)
The default is 3ms. For Vista users, the Jog Trans needs to be 10ms.
To change this value:
- Press and hold the MEMO for at least one second to enter the preset mode.
- Then use the Parameter knob to select Jog Trans.
- Press and then turn the Parameter knob to adjust this setting to 10ms.
- Then press the MEMO button once more to save and exit.
